            New Leadership Format

Our college pastor of 5 years has gone on to begin a new season at seminary. The Rain has since been undergoing a transition to a new student leadership format; for more information on this see the information below. Services meet at the main CalvarySLO location. At 7 PM, on Fridays, Andrew Cirillo will lead us through the parables of our Lord Jesus Christ as seen in the gospel letters. We hope to see you there for worship and fellowship!

            ABOUT US:

            OUR MISSION

The Rain exists to Define and Disperse a generation of saints by the Grace of Christ with the Cause of Christ for the Glory of Christ until the Return of Christ.

            WHO WE ARE

A movement of God’s people from both the college and career cultures of San Luis Obispo.  We meet on Friday nights at 7:00pm.

            WHAT WE DO

            The Word
Each week Andrew Cirillo takes us through the Word of God. His desire is that we be edified in both mind and heart; that we not only grow in our understanding of Christ, but in our affection for Him as well.

            Small Groups

            The Worship
Each week we worship the Lord with song.  These are times when our happiness in God is put to melody and proclaimed.  Because we meet on Friday nights (and there’s no class or work the next day) there is a greater freedom to worship and wait upon Him as the Spirit leads.

            The Inreach
Fellowship is a critical component of the Christian life.  We take having fun with each other very seriously :) Every week there’ll be some of us hanging out late into the night.  Some weeks we’ll have movies, games, food, etc.  The Rain has also cruised to many places.  We’ve been to Tahoe and Brian Head, Utah for snow trips; we’ve been to ZionNational Park, Big Sur, and SequoiaNational Forest for camping trips; we’ve been to concerts; we’ve been to the beach; and we’ve only just begun!

            The Outreach

The Rain is a missions-oriented movement.  We went to Mexico for one year for spring break to help a pastor of a small church.  We have served in San Francisco over Christmas break in both 2008 & 2009.  We also have a Designated Driver Ministry that we do on certain Friday nights to reach the students partying around Cal Poly (Here is the message Nick gave for the Designated Driver Ministry kickoff .  Please listen if you are interested in doing this with us!).

            THE RAIN: Who We Are

            WHAT WE PRAY

That there would be a generation of saints in this city that might perceive and embrace their utter dependency upon the Living God; that they might drop their knees in the dirt, lift their eyes to the sky… and beg for His rain to come.
